The Humla Romper is the perfect piece to wear on a hot summer day and looks amazing on both pregnant and non-pregnant people. Upon first glance, it looks like a short dress, but the fact that it is a romper makes it that much more comfortable to wear, no risk of flashing anyone! It has generous ease and feels so airy, like nothing is touching you! The Humla has elastic in the upper bust channel to make it easy to fit. It also has an optional low-support bralette to feel more secure or hold breastfeeding pads in place. The bralette has a dart that reduces extra bulk if you wear it on its own, but that dart is also optional. To make the pattern beginner friendly, skip installing the pockets and bralette. View A is a romper, View B is a top, View C is just the bralette.
This pattern will teach you some fun techniques including:
- French seams
- In-seam French seam pockets
- Elastic channel
- Turning thin straps

Love the pattern!
Love my Paradise patterns, especially the Humla romper, its so perfect for summer and so cozy. Instructions are so clear and it was such a fun piece to sew
I love this romper! It feels like a cute dress but even better. Fits well, flattering, fun to sew with great directions! Can't recommend enough!
So, I haven't sewn for over 20 years (the last time was in high school when I was 14 years old) but I received a sewing machine for Christmas and to be honest - I primarily wanted to be able to alter my family's clothes, I was too scared to MAKE clothes.
But then I saw this pattern. And I really love the look. I sewed it over the weekend (toile) to test fit, and I could size down but I I really love the loose fit.
I am plus size (typically an xxl) and the size chart was true to size for me.
But the best part of this pattern: the absolutely clear directions and step by step tutorial with images. This is the first time I made a garment within having to watch a tutorial on YouTube.
It's worth every penny and I would highly recommend this pattern to beginners.
I did omit the built in bra, because I was eager to wear it. But I will be trying it out on my next romper.
